I am normally not a fan of anything that falls under Rom-Com. But this little jewel just warmed my heart. Being someone who is apart of the LGBTQ+ community, this was just a little taste life as I know it.
While reading this book, I found myself relating more so to Cassidy rather than Katie. I knew all about being the gay girl who fell for a straight girl and all the heartache that comes along with that. For the first time in a long time, I found myself laughing while reading and that made this read that much more enjoyable.
Now while I enjoyed the fact that this was a quick and light read, I wish that there were more to this story. For this being the first F/F romance book that I have ever read, for me it was….mediocre. I wanted fire, I wanted drama, I wanted a story that embodied it all, and this just wasn’t it for me. For me it was the typical, gay girl meets straight girl in the bar, and I needed it to stretch beyond that.
For this being my first book by Camille Perri, I had a good time. This makes me want to write a Fan Fiction of how I would tell the story of Katie and Cassidy. *Hmm…I think I may be on to something*
But if you have not read this book, I would suggest you read it. And if you do, please let me know what you thought/felt about the story.
I would give this book a 3/5 stars
Until next time, until the next book.
